Hi all,
I was just wondering has anybody been to Mount Unapproachable and if so, how did you approach it?

Cheers
Alan

That's almost your old stomping ground Al. Can it be accessed from the east around Kings Canyon? A route in via Mt Olifent would be very interesting. Does that formation 40 km to the south west on the top end of Lake A have a name at all? Looks like a smaller version of Constance Headland. Scratch that, I found it Long's Range. Sent you an email.

Cheers Mick

Hi Mick - I have a photo of Longs Range somewhere taken about 20km from the east. That's as close as I got to it.

The track leaves Mereenie Loop road at 24 5.43, 131 26.513. Turn left at the junction 23 59.307, 131 00.113 and you should reach Docker. Keep going straight and you will end up near Mount Winter. Mt Olifent is not accessible directly from the track as far as I know.

It would be nice to try to approach the unapproachable, maybe on my way to Cairns in 2012 for the eclipse.

Cheers
Alan
