Looking at heading out next weekend to Thargomindah and traveling down to Hungerford and staying at Currawinya NP then heading back up to Eulo. Will be traveling in a Mitsubishi Outlander. Is there anything we should know or take extra before we head out. Cheers

They have only had a small amount of rain out there this past week.

We were out there 3 weeks ago and the Eulo to Hungerford road had only just opened.

I'd be checking with the Police in Thargo and Hungerford before travelling out there especially in an Outlander, we went through a few boggy sections when out there.

Keep an eye out for all the Emus with chicks as well as all the wildflowers :)

Cheers Kev

And mobs of goats on the roads as well - we nearly collected a couple driving thru Currawinya recently.

SchuMi2.

Rain will be your only problem.

A must visit is the pub in Hungerford.

I would back that up on Hungerford.
Called there trip before last, bought a beer, had a yarn to the local cop, (who was heading away to a golf tournament) the publican when I asked to buy a sandwich, said what would you like in it. The cop left so I had another beer and the sandwich, best one I had for a while.
All I was calling for was for information on the Park.
You meet some great folks out there.
You do need to keep a eye out for the goats and pigs. The country must suit them.
Be aware that if you camp around the old woolshed and billabong there is a real nasty burr.

Thargomindah is simply a brilliant town, to say the least.
The Caravan Park is clean and neat, with great facilities, and the meals at the pub are sensational.
Do not forget to check out the Thermal Power display, I believe it is a daily event, but check at the caravan park, for more info about that. There is also a power museum a little further out of town.

Cheers
Bucky
