PowerSaver - Smart Battery Charger, fitting a second barrery.

I am about to fit a second battery to the system in the Caravan.
Does anyone have information that might help, no info in the manual (only shows single battery set up). Cheers, Maca.

hi Maca
its not a very big job, if your fitting it in the same compartment right next to the origonal battery simply hook it up in paralell (pos to pos, neg to neg) however if its a bit further away and you need significant wiring you may have to use fuses as well

Supercheap have the battery cables already made up as well as jaycar. If you are fitting a AGM battery the terminals are different.

I will no doubt be corrected if wrong, but you can connect a 2nd battery to the first battery and it just acts like a larger battery.
ie, if you connect 2 * 100 amp batteries together it acts like 1 200 amp battery, it will take twice as long to charge but last twice as long.
Note that it is normally recommended to use batteries of the same age, type, brand and capacity.
