Agreed.

Even my old Series3 Landrover looks attractive compared to that mishmash of style (if you can call it that)

Disco.

One of the blue ones has been driving around Canberra for a few years. Like most Toyota fwds these days - ugly suckers.

What is it supposed to be ?? - a cross between a Jeep, a Hummer, and something from the 50s ???

Might look better in the flesh.

Ill stick with my D 40 Navara for now.

Jeff.

Looks like a Hummer mated with an Austin 1800, and then had an ugly baby.

That horrible little Jeep thing with tiny windows is arguably the most capable stock 4x4 ever built! As for trying to be a Hummer you seem to forget the Jeep has been around since 1941. It's the Hummer that tried copying the Jeep. (They even went to court over it)
As for ugly, well a Troopy owner should know being an expert in that field but I don't reckon the Wrangler actually looks too bad in comparison ;-))

It's a 150 Prado underneath with the same engine, V6 and transmissions. Slightly shorter by only about 100mm and slightly wider by around 47mm

Built in Japan as this is the only place they do RHD.

April 2011 launch

It drives very well actually, has a nice wash-out interior and more knock about than any Prado and more comfort than a 70 series. Sadly only petrol for the first launch

Regards

I hope they do release it here ....

The more garbage toyota starts offloading in aust ... the quicker the demise of their reputation as the best 4wd ... Which they earnt with the 40 series and relied on for marketing everything else since.

Ohhh ... definitely reliable ...

All the ones Ive owned have been just as reliable as my old holdens ... a subaru ... a mitsubishi ... and even a jeep or two .. LOL

hmmmm ... or should I say they were all just as reliable as a toyota ....

120Y would even be easier on the eye than this "new" fj cruiser ... LOL

Saw an FJ in Vanuatu last year. Strange looking thing and would have cost a fortune to ship out there I'd imagine.

Not my cup of tea in the style dept.
