I've seen em with an Aircon, I think it was one of those slimline lightweight units they put on the roof of pop tops.

A honda eu2.0i will run them.

Hi when I lived in Perth we had a 1986 16" Jayco poptop we bought a reverse cycle split system for $500 at a cheapo shop an had an eleco install it they removed the rear window built a timber frame to support the head of the unit and mounted the compressor on the rear bar of the van with 2 pieces of channel welded on to bolt the unit to. all up about $500 whisper quiet not like box units and heating for winter we had a vinyl cover made to put over the compressor when travelling and also put on a ratchet strap just in case we travelled from Perth to Mackay and other places no problems

Hi, Do you mean a Jayco Eagle Camper van, with the pull out beds ,
I have one of those and they dont reccomend fitting one on the roof as it is too heavy for the winder when you wind the top up.
I have been toying with mounting a split system on the front and leaving the hose's loose and mounting the head above the lounge at the front, (we dont like it blowing on th bed at night),
My idea was to take it down and rest it on the front lounge seat when travelling.
I am still sorting what length hoses I will need.
My mate has a 16 ft pop top and he mounted the unit on the back as above and fitted the head in the overhead cupboard ( removed 2 doors) halfway along the side and the pipes run in the back of the cupboards. very quiet and works great.
Cheers Des.

We have an Eagle windup camper trailer.
We have a Highlander 1.5HP portable reverse cycle A/C on our bench when camping in the wet season - Generally October to March.

The water drains in to the sink, the hot air exhaust pokes out the window.
We have friends which also do similar, one leaves his on the floor and has the hot air poke out a hole in the floor. Others leave theirs on the bench like us.

We are happy with this setup. They are cheap (we bought ours for $250 used - equiv to a night in an A/C hotel room in Broome) and it extends our camping right thru the wet season.

One thing to consider when buying is the height, its ideal to leave it standing on the floor of the camper when travelling.

Have fun
