Hi Dave,

Are you airbags adjustable for height, Can you let them down a bit to get into the carport.

Cheers Wilko

They are fully deflated to about 5lb . I wish it was that simple.

The air bags come in different lengths to cater for high lift springs.
Chances are if you use a 2" longer air bag in a standard height spring it could pinch the side of the bag. The air bags are not to provide additional lift they are to support additional load and maintain a given ride height. when the vehicle is loaded.

Hi David,
The red bags are Polyair. I've only just recently put a set in my old girl.
They work a treat.
What Wayne said is right, Bags are ordered to suit the lift.
A standard height bag for a standard height vehicle and a bag ordered for a 2" lift is longer in the side wall to suit.
They are an Assist devise, not a product to give suspension lift.
Depending on what your carport is constructed of, is it possible to have it lifted a couple of inches or a bit more. I did this to a friends a couple of years ago. He had a carport that was only 2.1 M high, bought himself a caravan that wouldn't fit under. We raised it 300mm by extending the 70mm metal posts, one Saturday, a few welds and bracing, 250 bucks later in materials and he could put is van under it. He couldn't lower the van, but 250 bucks is a lot cheaper than new suspension.
Just a thought David, I don't know what your carport is constructed of so this price could be a bit more.
Good luck with,
Cheers.

I am in the process of lifting the roller door but can only get 40mm . I may fit by about 2mm but i would like a little more clearance just in case. New tyres, door not open enough . I don't want to change springs if I don't have to.

On Range Rovers , the same Polyair is used for a standard height and 2 inch lift.
For a 2 inch lift a 2 inch spacer is placed under the bag.
Have alook under the cruiser and see if there is a big block of rubber under the airbag. If there is , just take it out when lower springs are fitted.

Hi David,
The polyairs do come in different lengths for the 100 series depending on the springs. I would assume your vehicle would have the longer ones if they were fitted at the same time (or after) the springs were done. As said above they will crease and crack if fitted into shorter springs. Other suggestions could be lower your rear tyre pressures a bit, lower the polyairs to 2 or 3 psi, get a second set of wheels and tyres for around town in a smaller overall diameter and only fit the good ones when going away, put something heavy in the back like a bag of cement or - fit a small electric winch under the body to pull down the rear of the body like the rock hoppers!!!
