They're Off - ACROSS OZ

Just a heads up for everybody to keep an eye out for the ACROSS OZ - Ride Against Depression. Heading West through the Mud around Birdsville to the WA West Coast and back along the South Coast. Not sure how yet how they will get through the muddy bits out West but at least the rain clouds parted overnight for a clear and sunny farewell this morning at the Fountainhead Organic Retreat in Maleny in Queensland

You can see the route they take by clicking here.

ExplorOz is a proud sponsor of the Ride which has headed out on a 16,000km mission to raise awareness of Depression and to encourage all people who suffer - especially Men to get assistance with depression. (One in Five Australians will suffer some form of Depression at some time during their lives - hopefully the statistic is significantly lower for us seasoned Adventurers)

I posted a blog this morning with More info and photos Across Oz Departure

They have certainly chosen the best medium to get this message across - an Outback Adventure is excellent "therapy" and a great way of getting the most out of life.

Go and say Hi if they happen to come your way.

You can see exactly where they are right now. ExplorOz is tracking their progress live.Across Oz on EOTrackme

What a coincidence, i didnt realise ExplorOz was a sponser. A mate of mine at work is meeting up with them at around Cameron Corner and has organised to travel with them for part of the trip. He is also on a bike and its his first big trip. Looks like he will be in good hands. Good luck guys, safe trip.

Hi Kerry,
Good on them, I think this is going to be more of an adventure than they think. It's awful wet out in the centre.
They may have to do a lot of zig zagging around closed roads.
The Birdsville track wes closed again yesterday.
Qld is deadly on driving on closed roads. It will cost you $1000.00 per tyre. if you drive on closed roads.
The other states aren't quite so strict.
Good Luck.
Take care, safe travels.
Bye for now Ma.

What has happened?

I was watching their movements but they now seem to have been stationary for a couple days.

Have they met the wet already?
