Hi,

We are considering leaving our caravan at the Warmun Caravan Park whilst we go camping in the Bungles next year. If you have done this we would like feedback. It is $10pd secure storage, so that's a good deal.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Greig and Mish
Yes we left our van there in 2008 for 3 nights, no problems. You see the people at the servo (Turkey Creek Roadhouse / Warmun), they have a secured fenced in area across the road from the servo and van park, where you can leave it. No power but we left our fridge on gas for the period.
Great time in Bungle Bungle NP
Regards
Terry

Greig & Mish,
We were there in late july this year and did just that. I had planned to park in the caravan park and leave the van plugged in to power while I was in the Bungle Bungles but they were booked out and they advised booking ahead for a powered site at that time of the year. By now I'd say the flood of tourists may have eased somewhat. It cost $10 per night to leave the van in the compound .

Hi Curlynan

I can only say that I know Jerry and Cheryl, the Managers of Turkey Creek (Warmun) Roadhouse well, and they would keep your van safe. Jerry and Cheryl Managed the Billiluna Store for nearly 3 years and are very experienced with Aboriginal people and their communities.

The Warmun people know Jerry and Cheryl now, and they would never impinge on their own roadhouse interests.

Enjoy your trip.

Cheers

Thanks Marc,
Good to hear., Our main concern had nothing to do with the aboriginal community it was more that the van would be in a secure place for a few days. As our van will be our home for a few years wanted to know that it would be secure. We live in Melb ATM and I wouldn't leave the van out the front of our house. Too many ratbags around. It is nice and secure on a friend's farm till we take off next year. We will probably be looking for another place to store our van in Darwin for abt 3 months in 2012 as we are going to SE Asia from there for that period of time.
Sounds like we would be very happy leaving our van with the managers Jerry & Cheryl. Thanks for the feedback. Always good to get first on hand responses.

Hi Curlynan

I know a roadtrain driver in Darwin, he drives for QAL and his truck name is Wombat. He and his wife are lovely people, perhaps if you ring QAL, and ask for Wombat (Mick Brumfield), you may find that he may well look after your van, or he may know of someone that would.

Cheers
