Hi Folks
Has anyone come across a laptop support similar to the one used by the police in their vehicles. I have just bought an HP2140 10" notebook and OziExplorer GPS Starter Pack with Raster 4wd maps.
Can't see us going anywhere too rough as we only have an X-trail at this point - miss the 'cruiser though. More worried about having to hold the Notebook all the time and also corrugated roads damaging hardware.
Any ideas appreciated!

Hi Secretmary. Don't be too hard on your X-Trail. I took
mine to
Cape York with my T-Van. I have a Asus EEE 10" laptop and a Ram Stand from GPS-OZ at Hornsby NSW. I ditch the HHD and replaced it with a 32 Gb solid state drive. That has solved all the hassle's of disc damage. It also runs faster. The Ram Stand has a rubber mount to stop all those nasty vibrations. It simply bolt onto the passenger
seat mounts. No drilling and sits nicely against the centre console. I run trackranger which has speech prompts at way points, rather than looking at the screen while driving. Hope this is helpful. Steve.

solid-state drives are only good for a certain amount of "writes" - be sure to back up your data

Thanks Guys
Had a look at both companies mentioned and have sent an email to the UK. Unsure about how the RAM one would attach to passenger seat/centre console - any chance of you posting a photo of this set up.
Thanks for your help.
