Hi,
Has anyone installed a dual battery setup in their 2.4L 2010 Outlander? I guess previous model would be the same except for a few cosmetic deals.
I have had a look and space is tight but i am guessing you could fit a small deep cycle batt in there next to the std one. It would be only for running laptop/lights etc and charging mobiles and camera batts.
Ideas welcome...
Cheers Adrian

It might be easier to get a plug put in the back (with appropriate cabling) and buy a Thumper or similar. It will easily do what you want. If you need 240 a small inverter would do the job. By the time you buy a deep cycle battery, a charging set up, battery cradle and fitting the small battery under the bonnet will be an expensive solution. Unless you have a large battery or multiple batteries to charge the dual battery set up is an expensive option for what you get. Thumper has other uses as
well because it is portable.

Thanks Steve
Called around a couple of
places and the cheapest I could get it for was $1300 installed. I will be looking at your solution and going that way.
Cheers

Dual battery setup on my cruiser cost that sort of money. Needed it for fridge. Would definitely recommend getting a Thumper or similar for your needs. Good for jump starting too.
