Fishing Spots in WA

Member - Boo Boo (NSW)

Can anyone tell me if there are any squid fishing spots in or near Bunbury.

I know that Busselton Jetty is a good spot but was hoping to find something closer.

G'day Doc

I have not got a tinny so a jetty or groyne it will have to be.

Yesterday was a bit light on with the metal detecting, I only found $3.70 and a few bottle tops. The day before I found $10.50 in 25 minutes or so.

By the way what is a groyne?

Hi BB, don't think you will have much luck going for squid in Bunbury without a boat. A groyne is the (man made) rocky spit that extends out into the water from the beach. Perhaps I have spelled it incorrectly.doc.

How long are you in town for Boo Boo? I have a dinghy which hasn't seen the water for too long for one reason or another and I am partial to a feed of squid.

I have got a couple previously off Bunbury but it seems that for any sort of guarantee one needs to trek to Busso.

The upshot is that there is a chance of some King George Whiting down there too.
