Have you tried Lake Boondooma??

We are heading there for an EO Gathering in a few weeks time.

Cheers Kev

Hi Mark & Lynette,
Sir Kev has the right idea, we spent a couple of weeks camped by Lake Boondooma in November last year when the dam was at 47%...it's now 100%, so our camp site would be rather damp right now. Still, that just means you camp up the hill a bit further and this would mean a shorter walk to the loo.

We caught some nice Bass and Yellow Belly along with some Redclaw. The tinnie was a handy piece of camp gear too. We have a Bushtracker van so self sufficient where ever we go, but you can also use a generator there from 7.00am-9.00pm. They also have a large firewood pile too.

GO..you will love it.
Cheers
Rick & Julie

that it most certainly did...lol
was nowhere near full, but it did have water in it. i was just quickly goggling the place and read how it was dry in 2006. looking at SEQ Water website, it says the dam is currently at 25.4% capacity

Thanks for the link. :)

We lived up the road for many years and i never recall it having much if any water in it .... the water was pumped out of Lockyer Creek from memory and with the water table changing in the area, there was never any justifiable flow to trigger the pumping.

Lake Atkinson up the road was always the popular spot for camping, though it would be interesting to see how they compare these days.

Lake Moogerah - in the Scenic Rim near Boonah, has plenty of water, and waterfront sites.

LOL you love picking the worst dam levels in Qld.

Looks like a good camping area, has changed a lot over the years. Thanks for the link to the images.

they asked for waterfront, they didn't say the dam had to be full though...lol
as you say, going on the trip report it looks like a nice camping area, and not many people about either which is even better.
