Hi All,
I am up for some new rubber on my 97 troopy ( 6 stud splits ). I have to clean the rims up first as I've been getting problems with loose rust scale piercing the tubes (rust works loose on rough corrugations and is more of a problem than dirt entering IMHO). I will have access to some late model split rims (5 stud) and I'm wondering if anyone know if the rings on these rims are the same as the older 6 stud? I haven't had a look at the new rims yet but thought I would ask here first. Would be good if they are the same as my old rings have seen better days.
Regards,
Peter

dont know but try them
its not rocket science, if they fit in nice and snug then the answers yes, if lips etc are mismatchedand you get gaps then no

they fit but i would not use them, the 6 stud ring has a good inch flange under the rubber and the 100 series ring has only about 1/2" flange , no worries using hilux ifs silver rings on the
grey 6 studs rims tho

there are differences - both Dad (80 series GL) and I (HJ47) both use split rims with same stud pattern, however they're not interchangeable .... subtle differences in stud length and rim profile .... in an emergency you could interchange, but my local mechanic (who knows his stuff) reckons you shouldn't run them permanently
