Hello to All,
It has been some time since my last post but our Possums have to come first.I am considering hiring my Pioneer Argyle Camper to a family member and would like to know what is a fair price to ask for two weeks hire.I know this bloke will look after it possibly better than I so I have no worries there.I will also be providing a 2kva generator.Help please and thanks for the info I know will be forthcoming. I have just had a mate looking to hire a Goldstream Camper (Like the Jayco's) from a
well known firm in the south east of
Melbourne (who also sell Pioneer campers by coincidence) and he was quoted about $700 per week during January. Pop top caravans were about an thousand per week. No gennies included. Check out the Thomas brothers website as they hire the Pioneers.
Cheers Mick

Snake, Disco makes a good point and that is to make sure that your insurance will cover your trailer. Generally it won't if you're hiring it out (and you'll need public liability insurance) so it will have to be a "Cash" transaction (or better still, have them buy you apiece of equipment you covert as a gift rather than cash!). Just be careful as it's a big investment you've made in a quality unit.
Cheers Mick

You could reasonably ask somewhere between 50-75% of the going rate for both items, but it's up to you to decide how "family friendly" you want to be.
Speaking from past experience, even family members need a written contract to protect both the hirer and the owner. Otherwise it can destroy family relationships if things go pearshaped.
I would suggest that an ADTBPFBH clause be included.
ADTBPFBH = All Damage to be paid for by hirer.
I would also use a "pre and post hire" inspection form, but you may not consider it necessary in your circumstances.
Hope this helps you.
Disco.

If it was me I would not let it out, no matter how careful they are things happen. It only takes one tear or setting up wrong and stretching the canvas and it will never be the same.
I know my mum lent there camper out to the most careful bloke in the world and it never set up the same afterwards they said.
Just me I don't borrow and don't lend.

Snake I hire a Pioneer from a commercial company and they charge between $75 & $80/day.

Thank You All for the tips,I would much rather sell outright but this bloke wants to see if it is suitable before committing himself just in case.My wife and I were talking about it tonight and if he does not want it we will put it up on blocks in the shed and use it when we can. Again thank you all. Snake.
