I note from the latest newsletter the new
camping book in the
shop.
Camping Around Australia
Does anyone with Camps 5 want to be the guinea pig and buy it to compare the publications and report back?

Hi Motherhen, we have enough travel guides now! will this one take over from all the rest we have hahahahaha. Probably pick it up next time we re-new our member ship.
I think we all need one on a dvd so we do not need to carry all these books around.

Hi Bruce
I need a book in the car for use late afternoon if we don't find something nice ourselves, but with the advent of e-readers, Camps in electronic format would be the way to go to cut down on that weight box of map/tour guide/camps books in the car.

I take it this product isn't mapped/published by Hema, it will be interesting to compare the differences - i've always had a good run with Hema products (both digital and paper). Found Camps 5 to be helpful for finding spots to
camp, so this product may just fit the build.
cheers,
OzTroopie.

Maybe I missed it, but does it have GPS reference points for items of interest???
It would be great if the advertising could include a sample of contents...like Amazons does with many of its books.
Cheers

Howdy Motherhen
I tried to find out as much as I could on this and there's not a lot of information on the contents of the book, the maps they use or any page samples. I can't see any reference to obtaining updates via a webpage or even a file that you upload to a GPS as you can with Camps 5. It's almost an impossible call until we have more information.
A soft version (electronic) would be good although I doubt we will see one as it would allow illegal copies to be made easily and rob them of income. I have Camps 5 and will not be updating for a while yet.
Cheers

Perhaps we should ask Adele in the bookshop to give a mini review. Although i have not got an e-reader (i think they are a great idea for travelling light), i expect to see the most popular camps publication in electronic form soon. There are safeguards for publishers in the e-books system which is the way of the future.
