I have just purchased a new Mitsubishi Pajero platinum. I have had a genuine Mitsubishi tow pack fitted and the spare wheel lifter. I will be picking up a new caravan in january and this is a Royal Flair 21'4" in length.
I am intending to fit a weght distribution Hitch and have 2 choices. the genuine Mitsubishi one or a Hayman Reese 550lb unit.
My concern is that will there be enough clearance room when this unit and the van is hitched up to the vehicle so that the rear door of the vehicle will open unimpeded by the top of the tow hitch on the van.
Has anyone out there purchased the new pajero and fitted a WDH to their van . what supplier brand was used and are there any issues with clearance of the Pajero rear door.

It wil be partly governed by the level height of the A frame on the van
This will be governed by where the hitch needs to be to keep the van level.
The HR would be the best and probably cheaper than a rebadged one sold by Mitsubitsi
Th alternative would possibly be a Hyland hitch.

Check out the Pajero Club of Vic
forum as there is heaps of info regarding the genuine MMAL tow pack with the WDH.
