Was wondering if anyone has been past the
trig point and down to the river, then back up to the trig at blue rag.
I have driven to and rode trail to the trig look out.
the map says its a 1200m drop. cheers

its a long way down to a single

Lot of loose rock on track but you can even cross the river just.

Well not really , its supposed to end at the river - it once went right thru - but now there are big trees done.
The track down is steep and with loose rock some cut there tyres up going back up , I'd take it easy if wet.

Another reason for not going any further, or in fact crossing the river, is that it puts you in the Wongungurra Wilderness Area.

Would have been nice to be able to cut over to the Sarah Spur track for a loop trip!!
How tractable do you believe it'd be in the wet...is it rocky or a combination of surfaces including slippery ones?? May be there this weekend so value your informed opinion. Thanks Leigh

Its rockier with less slope towards the top with mixed surface and some slippy bits lower down. some narrow bits further down that you can't turn on, and only last bit is clay surface.
With hardly being driven on due to track closures could be fair growth of new grass.
Quite do-able with good average rig normally , but showers are forecast up till this friday so final descision will be based on that , wouldn't go down if any
water running on track, and would have backup like chains /winch for the short tricky bits.
Sarah spur would actually be harder into and out of its river.
River at end of Blue Rag is to deep to cross anyway this time of year.

Many thanks Robin. As I have a few others with me I think I will draw the line at the peak itself and save the river for another and dryer time! Cheers Leigh
