Julio,
A bit further out of town - but look at Paradise Valley - a great spot on the Macalister River - about 15-20 minutes out of Heyfield towards
Licola.

If your looking at Paradise Valley over Xmas you must book as it's very popular during the school holiday period, otherwise you should be OK. Great spot especially if you have kids as the river is normally shallow and slow moving.
You must bring everything you need as there is no
shop of any sort but during the busy period a van comes around with bread and milk etc.
I think they charge about $20 for a powered site and $18 non powered.
In my opinion the unpowered sites are best as you can
camp well away from the crowd, and right on the river bank.
Jeff.

Gday Julio
Try Huggets Crossing . Nice and quiet. Not a caravan
park , but there is a long drop that was quite short when we were there last month. Nice river and some good off road bits to test yourself on.
