Hi all
can anyone shed some light on this problem? Lights go off after 1200rpm then returns @ idle and there's a noise coming from something behind the glovebox.
Cheers

jump on lcool.org and you most probally will get the answer you need, pull out the glove box as there are some electricial bits behind it, most probally a relay or something "buzzing" due to charge rate increasing at 1200rpm and low at idle...

Sounds like the charge rate is to low at idle. Increase in revs increaes alternator output. Filter light will come on due to shared earth circuits in the dash.
Check charge rate if you have an accurate volt meter, should be no less than 13.2volts.
Hope this helps.

The glowplug timer lives behind the glovebox, and it should certainly not buzz.
A faint "clunk" when it drops out is all you should hear.
If this is the 2h engine (hj75) the timer also has the low oil pressure cut out in there.
As suggested sounds more like an alternator problem but if you are lucky could also be a faulty earth, engine block to the battery negative.
What is showing on the voltmeter with the engine running? A few checks with a multimeter will help isolate the problem.

Hi All
Thank you for tips and advice? Volts were 12.7 now 13.7 @ idle.
It was a faulty earth but I will have alternator redone b4 the end of year as I haven't touched it in ten years.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ASSISTANCE
Cheers Andre
