Looking for advice on purchasing a Delica. Good news, bad news? Heard they might have some heating issues?
Cheers,

I was looking at them once.
The height ruled it out for me. Too tall for work car
park and local shops. In fact just about anywhere with undercover
parking around where I live and work.
They are imports, so remote area service/parts might be an issue.

Pretty standard Mitsubishi Technology as I recall.
I rather like the concept. Worth getting it checked out by a decent mechanic with some mitsubishi knowledge.

I like the Delicas. My GF thinks they look horrible though.
AFAIK they have Pajero running gear underneath so are pretty reliable.
Insurance may be an issue as they are
grey imports. Be aware also that it's
well known some Japanese people tend to wind back the Odometer.
They would make an excellent camper.

I will get hammered but here goes.
Lots of these were imported into NZ in 80's and 90's.
Despite some Aussies loving them they earned the name "the falling over machine" due to their narrow track versus the height.
Also imported Mitsi diesels were absolute crap and were to be avoided at all costs.
I owned a Taxi and had several in our fleet for a "short time"
Reason they ALL blew up under the workload in the hilly city we lived in.
Mitsubishi make good big diesels but bad small ones.
Also the imported cars were not looked after very
well and were generally
well gunked up in the motor.
One guy ran Castrol diesel detergent oil and the thing started blowing smoke from that day on.
There is a Delica
forum who will give you some ideas good or bad I guess.
All the above are actual experiences NOT from my brothers uncles cousin etc.
