I reckon mines about to go u/s and needs the bearings replaced. For an 03 4.2 diesel. Does anyone know the bearing part number/s for the fan belt idler?.

It looks like it might take a 6003 bearing but I'd like to have new parts on hand before pulling it out.

Cheers

Might I respectfully suggest you ring a Nissan parts person who will no doubt know.

Graham,

I think he may just want to change the bearing inside, some of the units can be changed without buying the whole thing for some stupidly high price,,, regards Michael

Call Repco, Nissan will probably only have the complete unit as they do for the 3L, I know Repco have the bearing and pulley for the 3L models

Take the pulley off and run down to CBC, Bearing Service or the like and they'll drop a compatible bearing off the shelf for ya.
Go for quality though, SKF, NSK, not the cheaper Chinese items.

As has been said, crazy prices for the full assy. at the dealer.

Sorry for the late reply, the emails have been getting captured by our spam filter. I was only wondering if anyone knew the actual bearing number itself before I pull it out to find out only to have to put it back in and chase up the replacement bearings. I did ring our local dealer and as you would expect they would only replace the part as a whole. Repco was not much help either.

Appreciate the responses though

Cheers
