Have two SLA batteries out of a computer UPS have been trying to charge them up with a little 1 amp charger
3 days later one is up to 7.5 volts.
Would it hurt to use my Ctek 7 amp on them.
They are 12v 17ah about the size of two bricks on edge.
Dont want to blow them up.

Unfortunately Graham, if you use a high amp charger they will end up looking like a football.
Reply number 2 above is correct.

Gday Graham,
You won't blow it up with a Ctek 7000. Its suitable for gels and batteries down to 14Ah.
If you hook it up, the Ctek analyses whether the battery can accept and retain the charge. I've used
mine on the occasional dead battery and if the lights flash then look it up in the manual to see what's going on.
Ctek manual.
I expect its probably dead!
