OzTent fly question

Hi everyone,

After having the OzTent for about a year now, we're getting a little annoyed at the condensation issue so we're looking at purchasing a fly for it.

Unfortunately, one of the things we love about the OzTent is the large rear window and being able to look up at the stars. From looking at images of an OzTent with a fly, it appears that the fly covers the rear window :(

Can anyone with an OzTent and fly advise whether you can roll the rear of the fly up so that it doesn't block the view from the inside of the tent?

Cheers,

Jason.

I use a couple of short tent poles to lift the bottom of the fly to an acceptable hight. This also also allows the breeze to flow through. Rolling it up is not really an option that I have thought about, and probably not practical.

Hi Jason,

No, I don't think you can roll the rear of the fly.

We keep the rear window cover rolled up and still receive some airflow coming through under the fly. I think I'm going to try Fred's idea next time with the short tent poles (thanks Fred!).

Hope this helps,

What condensation issue.

I have had an OZ Tent for a little over 12 months now and had no problems.

Did the Cape in one last year, once again no issue. Can you explain a little more?

Have to ask the same question.

Had an Oztent for so long it is branded Black Wolf.

Never had a condensation issue yet in various extremes of weather.

Hi Jason,

Buy 2 fibreglass electric fence poles (You can get them at most rural suppliers) and attach snap hooks to the top.

You can hammer them in on an angle and bend them to keep the fly taught. No ropes or pegs necessary. I got ones that are 1.8 high so they should keep the fly around 1.5mt off the ground.
