G'day, just received a recall from Nissan advising that I would be given 12 wheel nut indicators to allow a visual check on wheelnut tightness. Finally they have listened to all those that have lost wheels in the past. I hope those that have lost them in the past and haven't had any luck with compensation from Nissan will now be compensated. Recall is # P0350.

Hi John,

It took them a long few years to believe their customers, how long do we have to wait for them to believe about the front ends and the 3.0 ltr donk faults ?

I have been following that one John - will be interested to see If my new Patrol is included as its the first car I have ever had with alloys.

Never had a problem before in 18 years of owning these Patrols with steel wheels.

I have received a customer statisfaction survey though.

Interesting , these devices only tell you that your wheel nuts aren't done up tight enough , and you only get 3 per wheel not 6.

The process still relies on the user to check - but that check can be simpler and more likely to occur.

Looks like Nissans way of shifting responsibility squarely onto the user.

John

I got the recall letter today (the mail is a bit slow in the bush...)

Bit late for me. I've already had a rear left fall off!

At the time my insurance company said I had to show an automotive engineer's certificate as to why the wheel came off but I couldn't find one prepared to write it.

Did you notice the recall says a few have come loose after having new tyres fitted, etc. Left loose from the factory more likely. Also what good is it to me to take it back to their dealer to have the wheel nuts torqued when it is now 5 years old? I doubt my dealer would know how to use a tension wrench let alone have one and their attitude to any warranty issues is like dealing with Scrooge. When it has been in for warranty repair it comes back with more faults than it went in for. They are a joke!
