Hi all,
The small 12v battery in my break away box is no longer charging, so instead of going out and buying another 90 amp battery, does anyone forsee any problems in connecting my break away box to my house batteries in my caravan ?

Hi Tia

Unless you van is registered in NSW, no problems. Many of the modern caravans with internal batteries and solar are wired this way. Ours is, and we have confidence power will always be there as we monitor our powerhouse of batteries regularly.

Tia, You could run into a problem if the pin is removed from the breakaway unit without you knowing. The length of time the house batteries will supply power to the brakes will cook the magnets in your electric brakes (not cheap to replace), whereas the small battery is used so it only supplies power for about 15 mins before going flat.
