Getting in some practice for a big trip next year and looking for ideas for some short trips in Vic say max 300 odd kms from Melbourne East, free camping or nice parks 21ft crusader & Pajero to get some experience. Did Wye river near Lorne last weekend - nice big4 park there. Any ideas welcome Bill&Ange

Try the Glenpatrick reserve at the Pyrenees, toilet block and a large level area for camping :)

just make sure the bridge in from elmhurst is repaired or use sandy lane or the other rds in before there.

great spot good driving in area
2013/14 around oz adventure bound

Spot on guys, and only just over an hour from Ballarat too, so easy from Melbourne or places North or South

I'm in the Pyrenees at the present. Glenpatrick is full of motorhomes at the moment so we've gone up to Camerons. Been bleep ing rain but the fellowship is good.

I often recommend the Little desert NP to my customers as a great beginner trip. Kiatta or horseshoe bend camp grounds have limited facilities, or horsham, dimboola or nhill have CV parks. You make make the driving as hard or soft as you like. most of the tracks are sandy but most are easily driven with 22 psi.
