Hi there.
1) I have a 50W on the TVan roof,
2) and a portable 80W
3) I already have a CTec 250 to use as a controller/regulator
Can I simply connect both solar panels to the regulator?
Do I then get the full of 130W?
Thank you so much. This is not a question of what could have been the ideal, as I already have the three items noted (combination of what I had + what came with the TVan) so please it is not a debate on CTec vs other options, it is about how I can get the best use from what I have.
Cheers,
CJ

Yes, and yes...
Simply connect the panels in parallel..

Exactly - Same thing I do -
Made up a V shaped connector with 3 Anderson plugs - bottom of V goes to Reg
two arms go to a 140 Watt on Jeep roof and 2 X 40 watt portable on the ground ..
Cheers

Does the portable have its own regulator? If so, then the output should be connected directly to the battery - otherwise as the others have said, just connect them in parallel using decent sized cable.
Ideally, both panels should have similar nominal voltages. Some panels have less cells and are designed to be used without a regulator, but yours are unlikely to be different.
