Just you me and the
Heading to Davenport Creek in Feb. We haven't been there for 15 years. We are driving a Hilux and taking a off road camper trailer this time. Can anyone advise if we will have any problems getting over the sand dunes. Any other tips/advise would be greatly appreciated.
Also any other worthwhile
places around there would be also good to know.

We are regular visitors to Davenport creek. Beautiful location but be aware that the mozzies are thick there at that time of year. This is not usually a problem if you are just visiting for the day but if you are camping there you will need lots of repellent and even several different types.
A drive to the end of the peninsula is worthwhile but can be quite difficult when the sand has been blowing around for a while. There is a magnificent beach just before you reach Point Peter.
Also watch where you
camp. At certain times of each month when the tides are high the water comes right up into the car park area by the
toilets.

The mozzies are one thing I distinctly remember from 15 years ago. They were so bad but we will be better prepared this time. They were the worst we had ever experienced.
The other thing I remember was there was no one there. I think things may have changed!

If you are going there outside of holiday periods it is still very quiet. On the weekends the locals travel out there for a day at
the beach.
