Hi Joe,
Some
places to try are:
Pretty sure there are some inland tracks starting from
Two Rocks that will take up as far as the Moore River mouth in
Guilderton (no driving across the mouth allowed though) which will take you through
Wilbinga also, but I am not sure on the legalities of the tracks around
Two Rocks.
On the northern side of the Moore River mouth you can access
the beach around the groyne area and further up from here I believe there is a spot called 3-Mile Reef which can be quite productive at times. Maybe do some further research on this?
Wilbinga in the North. There are plenty of spots along
the beach and areas to give your 4WD a workout on
the beach and on inland dunes and tracks. Have a search on here as I think there are some Trek notes.
Lancelin in the North. It might be worth trekking a little further on north through to Wedge. So anywhere between
Lancelin and Wedge. Be aware though that the
Lancelin Defence Firing/Bombing Range access tracks are now totally off limits and you can only run up and down
the beach between these
places now. Just watch out for washaways etc... on
the beach and of course the tide. Plenty of dunes around here too.
Just south of Mandurah you have
Whitehills Beach. You can drive all the way down
the beach to Myalup with the exception of having to exit
the beach at Preston, where you exit at the and then get back on
the beach at the southern end of the car
park.
I know these are a little north and south of your requirements, but they can be
well worth it and these are the only beaches you can legally drive on that I am aware of. You should be able to pick up anything from whiting to mulloway at different times of the year.
Hope this helps a little.
Cheers,
Darren
