Hi there, Just be careful with the
snorkel, some of the cheaper ones come from China and may not fit the contours of the guard properly and some have a lot of fiddly bits of flexible tubing to joun together. The less joins the better and im sure the good quality units have been flow tested to ensure correct air flow is achieved.. who would know with the cheaper units. regards Michael

Evakool are far from a non-brand name fridge, they would be one of the best available.

If you keep your eye out, you can find within a few weeks , a new genuine
snorkel for a Patrol on Ebay. There is one for a 3.0L 2004 to current model GU at the moment but your earlier model will turn up. I bought a genuine one for my 03 4.2TDI for $170 brand new on Ebay, in original packaging. I would go for an original or a Safari if you can.. Michael

Evakool is as good as or better than the ones you are calling brand names. We used ours as fridge?freezer for 3 yrs travelling oz and it was brilliant. We thought we had a fault with it and their customer service was amazing. It turned out to be our batteries and not their fridge and after spending a lot of time on the phone with us their only coment was "glad you got it sort". You won't go wrong with an Evakool.

I forgot my neighbour has a 110ltr waeco bit of a power guzzler he reckons, has to carry a genny only good for a day on
battery power in the real world up in FNQ I have the 47ltr Evakool I took it to them last year problem with the on/off switch which they don't use anymore they disconected it. Now turns on/off via thermostate switch had the unit rewired aswell to reduce the amount of joins in the wire now it uses less power than it use to if I ever got a new one it would be their 60ltr for my needs
