Knocked around a bit of country over the past forty plus years using road maps and mud maps. Recently got a Garmin GPS 72H. (The notion being that when I find
the spot where the gold is I can enter the co-ordinates and find it next time out. ) I read all the instructions and my brain turned to instant porridge. So I got a 'GPS for Dummies.' A previous Windows for Dummies was terrific. `Press this and you will see this... Then press this and you will see this.' Terrific!
Unfortunately the 'GPS for Dummies' tried to cover too many types and it is a bit like reading a manual and again the brain turned to instant porridge. Am hoping to find someone in the
Townsville area familiar with the Garmin GPS 72H and who would be kind enough to walk through the process with someone with a very small brain.
Yours tropically, Harry

Harry,
My Garmin comes with an instruction book, a ready reckoner and a slightly more detailed booklet/brochure type publication that was a quick guide on how to get things started etc. It was a lot simpler than the book. Did such a thing come with your unit? You may be able to download a copy from the Garmin website

Geez Mick,
Thanks. Yes, I downloaded all the instruction stuff and more or less was able to follow it but still have a problem relating it to its actual use. I am sure it would all fall into place quickly enough with someone running through it. As previously noted, I have a small brain.

G'day Harry
I did a course with GPSOZ to get better knowledge of my Garmin, so now I get newsletters from them. I'm pretty sure they mentioned in the most recent newsletter that they were going to put tutorials online.
Just a thought, might be of some use to you. Have a look at their website www.gpsoz.com.au and see if it's what you need.
'(The notion being that when I find
the spot where the gold is I can enter the co-ordinates and find it next time out. )' Just hit the 'Mark' button..lol
GPSOZ leaned more towards Garmin than other brands and styles, ( I have gps 60cSx), so if their online tutorials are like their 'live' ones, could be good for you.
Cheers, Dave
