Ever since I fitted the 4.5 L 80 series with a snorkel , it has suffered on petrol . There was a significant power increase on gas , but petrol has lost a touch of power , also the economy on petrol has gone out the window . some one on this forum had mentioned something about the air flow meter playing up due to the snorkel , its sounds possible , I was wondering if anyone else came across this problem before , and did you do anything to fix it ???Venus Bay

Eric,

Can I ask what brand of snorkel did you fit ?

As one type to my knowledge has a restrictor ring in the casing.

Supposedly to stop any resonance.

Hi
You must have the ram head on it. Turn it around and fuel use will return to normal, the increase of air flow upstream of the meter makes it give the wrong info to the computer.
