Hi,
What is the best option for longer term, post trip, standing with regards to
water tanks? Have a 120Lt
tank on camper trailer (KK) with associated plumbing to various outlets and not sure what to do after the trip.
A) Fill it full to the brim and keep pressured to stop air in the system
B) Drain completely out
What's best? A) stops air and therefore mould, but B) could create stale
water, over time.
What does everyone else do?
Thanks,
Graham

Graham,
I would usually leave the tanks full of
water to eliminate air in the system and if the
water tastes stale before the next trip, just empty and refill.
I am sure you will get other ideas.

I keep
mine full. Occasionally I
park it on the lawn and flush it through with fresh
water. Best option is to use the camper often enough, it doesn't have time to go stale lol.

I leave
mine with
water in them and drain, flush and fill at the next trip.
Bear in mind that household
water tanks can sit for many weeks with
water in them and none being added. Not at recent times though!!!!!

Hi Graham,
I have recently finished touring after 22 months on the road and have put my caravan into storage a few weeks ago with full
water tanks. I have used a product called 'Waterpure' from Biomagic. In mid Feb we will begin touring again. I will leave with the same
water in the tanks
.
Quote ....Waterpure is used to purify
drinking water from microbial contamination in
water tanks in caravans, motorhomes, boats and similar applications. Waterpure does not impart odour or taste to
water, is non corrosive at in-use concentrations. It does not combine with organic material in
water to form toxic compounds, as can occur with chlorine, and releases oxygen as it breaks down to further enhance
water quality'... unquote
I use about 15ml per 82 litre
water tank. The
water will stay perfect for up to 12 months providing outside temp remains less than 50 deg C. This is for everyday use, not just for storage.
Have a look at the website www.BioMagic.com.au.
I hope that will answer your questions. I am very happy with the product.
Cheers KevinR
