Hi

I think you will find that the Hilux only has a tow limit of 2100 or 2200kg as the 2005 only has a 2200kg limit.

Cheers

That model hilux is good (i.e the last of the old shape), but it is not adequate for 2400kg of van.

Depends on which model but neither will tow that weight. They changed shapes in 05, the old shape then changed to current shape. The old one was only around 1800kg the newer shape is around 2250kg. Might have to look at navara, triton ?? if you want a ute.The current ones are up around the 3t mark but not sure on the earlier models. Regards Steve M

And I forgot to add. I find the easiest way after the above chart is to Google say

toyota Hilux towing weight 2004

and it normally will come up with the weights. 1800kg in this case so 2400kg is illegal unfortunately. Have been through the same thing recently myself. The van I am having built has changed from a 2000kg tare to closer to 2700kg tare due to us changing our minds 50 zillion times. So my Jackaroo (max 2600kg) has been traded in on a Landcruiser (max 3500kg).

Hope this helps
