So I range EvaKool who said i should not buy a second hand one that old etc etc etc but of course they would say that because they want to me to buy a new one but then again the newer ones are of course better cause they have thicker insulation etc etc opinion ?

Paul, if the inner liner is good there should be nothing wrong with it.
PS, If you choose to buy new, Ive been dealing direct with Evakool recently , I don't recommend it, go to a reseller.

I gotta agree with Rich - the evakool products are good, but they don't seem to know how to deal with consumers. We had no problem getting a replacement catch for our fridge through our local dealer, but I won't ever try to deal directly again.
