Hi Guys, Just been trying to find info. on air bags, firestone coil rites but not much comes up. I have picked up that truck springs usa seem to be the one most mentioned. My ? does any one know the part no. for GQ patrol rear coil bag.
And if not asking to much my vehicle has 4 inch lift and seems to need spacers
have seen on the truck web site that they supply a lock n lift spacer kit but is that both sides or do you have to buy two kits ? Any info. would be appreciated.
Have tried e-mailing trucksprings waste of time. Have tried to ring but not much joy either they have never heard of a patrol and don't seem to want to know.
Thanks to any one who response.
AL

I've spoken directly with the people at Trucksprings a couple of times and had nothing but good help with any and all questions - and they knew about our Patrols too. You seem to have struck a sales assistant who did not. They were most helpful and I personally would recommend them without hesitation. Takes about ten days to get the bags from them by USPS.

I think I read your delivery time earlier Shaker. Guess it depends on what freight space is available. I was watching the mail after four days and beginning to worry until the ten day mark. Cost was AUD150 - due to the improved exchange rate:)

I honestly don't think I would have got them quicker buying them locally. The only issue was
mine were from the faulty batch & I had to pay the postage for the replacement bags.

Hey Al,
Not entirely sure of your actual questions. But.
Firestone do have a coilrite for a patrol. however it is a standard height bag and has spacers for lifted vehicles.
Not ideal as i'm presuming that with a 4inch lift you do some serious off roading.

Gidday al,
I bought
mine from the Airbag Man in Brendale (just north of
Brisbane). Their website is:
Airbag man website
They have a "Full vehicle applications list" - 3 GU Patrol models are listed there. I don't have any connection with the company - just a happy customer!
Cheers.

David, how do they compare to Poly's I've got to replace
mine. Firestone's appear also to be more readily available. I'm not as adventurous or have the time to do them myself.

The Firestones are reputedly tougher.
Mine took very little time to install, just a bit of crawling around under the truck, getting covered in dried mud!

Dunc, the longest part of the job is trying to wash the mud off first. No matter how clean you think it is under there, there is still dried mud and sand to fall in your face. Took about 3 hours in total (including mud removal).

Jack the body up to extend the coil spring, put bag in a bucket of hot
water to soften without letting
water into bag , when warm and pliable squeeze flat and she'l slip right into place ,no need to remove coil.

Thanks guys lots of advice here. Got a quote from my local Opposite Lock store for around $350 for the pair plus $186 for fitting (OUCH, especially as David says he got his for $160 delivered). I wasn't all that confident in the chap I was speeking to either.
cheers

Hey Al ,
I have these ones , They must know what a Patrol it is on their web site, its for a GU , does it really matter....
Airbags are for standard height only , use the supplied rubbers top and bottom and a rubber spacer equal to your lift height on the bottom.
Looks like they are on special !! ( check the link )

Good luck.

The link needs to have the whole line pasted into the address bar and the correct airbags will be there.
