We have had 2 big storms today with very heavy rain/s and strong winds and it looks like it is setting in for the wet ... (Doomadgee)
In short "can" any trips to the likes of Lawn Hill and any other places up here off the main gravel roads and be prepaired for some flash flooding at creek crossings, we are seeing very few come through now but those that are planning take care, this time last year it was dry as a bone, the Gregory crossing has risen a little from last weeks rain and will rise a bit more with this rain, only a few inches but it is now on the "up" so be careful .....
Roadworks are in progress at various locations along the Savannah Way and will get very messy with any rain on it, they are going to "attempt" to seal the last remaining gravel section between the Gregory and Doomadgee starting this week and it is the worst when wet, if detours are in place you may well get bogged so again check ahead with the Burke Shire Council and any other relevent Council according to the roads traveled ......
Welcome to the wet ..... i will start posting/updating road conditions in the correct areas of this site when it sets in so if again, planning check them first ......
I will try to keep tabs on conditions relating to Lawn Hill and all the "back roads", Kingfisher Camp, Hells Gate and any other conditions and places of interest around us here ....
Cheers and SAFE travels, Joe
