Well we finally got to the ferry and what a site it was, can only imagine what it looked like a few months ago. Hubby tells everyone he took me 3000klms for a 6 minute ride on a ferry ( but then we had to come home again), I'm sure a lot of our friends think we are mad but they haven't seen what we have seen. It was a bit too late for the Sturt Peas at Roxby, we had a couple of quite hot days before we got there but again we could see where they had been, however they were still quite spectacular and again worth going to see. Easily found the white ones but no pinks or mauves, (I did find an almost
orange one though) No matter where we go in this country it never ceases to amaze us what there is to see.
Our trips this year have taken us over half this continent, some
places not planned and others had to retrace for 'unfinished business' (as I call it), all in all over 20,000klms and lots of photos, only one EO sticker which was on the Simpson, they didn't stop so don't know who they were.
A big thankyou to Stephen L for all your information for our last trip, it helped so much at
Roxby Downs, saved us a lot of time. Also Stephen we will be in your next count of people on the Ferry LOL
Cheers
Deanna

Hi Heather
Great to hear that you did get that ferry ride and that second trip made it all worth while. You should have had good weather and I bet there was also some rain.....Dave B from
Broken Hill dropped in on Saturday on their way home from up there as
well.
Dave and Nora also went to
Roxby Downs, said there were still lots of normal Sturt Desert Pea out and could only find the pink ones and no white ones. They took a flight from
Marree and the pictures that he took from the air were unreal and to see that there is still all that
water there and the country so green.
Looking forward to your trip report and those all important photos.
Regards
Stephen

"Looking forward to your trip report and those all important photos"
Hi again Stephen L, hahaha, I haven't attempted to put up a blog post or photo's as I have read many of the
blogs on here and seen so many photo's from other forumites that my contribution would fall very short I'm afraid. The plan is to have a go though, and just put up the trips of this year, so will see how I go.
Thanks again for all your help and information, much appreciated.
Cheers
Deanna

Hi Deanna
Do not put yourself down. Everyone posts them in many different ways and it does not matter how good or bad it is, everyone has different experiences to share and your trip is
well worth a story. The drive over, the flowers at Roxby, the ferry ride, down to see your friends down the Peninsula.....It will be great to read. There is that sports shoe saying....Just Do It.
Cheers
Stephen

We made it to the Ferry on Tuesday last week. Spent 1-2 hours fishing for 6 Golden Perch and then came back to
Marree (fish for tea of course).
Water,
water everywhere. The country is looking great.

Went on to
William Creek on Wednesday and only just made it out on Thursday, if we had left 10 minutes later we would have been rained in. Started spotting at 07:30, on the road by 08:00 in light drizzle, rain increased and road deteriorated as we headed to
Coober Pedy. After 30 minutes rain stopped but road continued to be very sloppy until 30 km out of
Coober Pedy, certainly it was becoming impassable behind us where it was still raining.
Anyway my 87 year old Mother in Law loved the ferry as did we all, look forward to doing it again next year if the rain gods permit.
ABC News this morning has 5100+ vehicles, 17000+ people as having used the ferry and it will be open till mid-January and the Cooper 3 km wide on the Track proper.
