Recently I had my Hilux serviced, they also did a wheel rotation and balance (which I did not ask for). I have notice a vibration in the steering I checked the tyres and found that a weight had fallen off the rim. The weight has now been replaced, but I still get vibration. But it only happens some of the time and not always at the same speed. I drive the same bit of road most days and never notice a problem before.
Is my problem a Wheel balance issue or is there other things to consider?
Thanks

Take it back get
wheels put back where they were.
Who knows what the problem is but returning
wheels to original is a good start

Get a wheel balance and it should fix it. Balance changes over time and it doesn't take much with modern radial tyres to get wheel wobble. Rear
wheels wear at a different rate to the front (due to the fact they are driving) and if you put front to back you often get a wheel wobble until they are rebalanced.

Take the vehicle back to the Service personal and ask them to balance the
wheels correctly.

how do ya know the weight had fallen off ??? it might be the mark from the old
weight . get it balanced again .and check the tyres for runout . if they don,t run true you can balance them till the cows come home .probably won,t stop vibrating

Hi wato35
Has the same problem with my Hilux about 7 months ago, it was not the balance or the
wheels at all. I had the alignment corrected and no more vibrations at all. Inexpensive bu effective.
Cheers

hi
sounds like the casing are starting to seperate
jack it up and rotate the tyres taking good notice if the tyres have any high spots or are hooping
line the top of the tyre up with something while turning it
you will soon see the variation if there is one
i have been caught out on 2 ocasions over the years with balancing machines that are out of calibration
the result is the balancing job they do is out also after cheching the above go to a different tyre dealer and have them re-balanced if possible
cheers

hi
p.s
if the casings are starting to seperate no one can re-balance them
it's replacement time for very good safety reasons
cheers
