I'm giving some thought to using some Purple Polish on the checkerplate on my van.
Anyone out there who's used it, can you tell me how long the shine lasts before it needs another polish? Is it likely to turn into a never ending story?
Also how many bottles are needed on a Bushtracker's checkerplate? It's not cheap.
cheers

A cobber of
mine who used to run a truck out through
the desert with a freezer run used "purple " polish all the time on his barwork and tanks and the result was brilliant considering the areas he was travelling and the sand blast effect on equipment.
First use is as like anything else "lot's of elbow grease" but after that it was a matter of a quick whip over to keep the shine there.
You are right on the cost side but I think that quality does have a price.
As for how much you need I think that would depend on your personal requirements, but it does have a good "cover" area so to speak
Cheers
Paul

Perth rather than on-line.
Cheers.

I use a product called RIO polish, which is awesome. With a very very dirty set of chrome brush all that was needed was a little spray of this mixed with
water, 5:1 and a scrubbing brush. Took me about 30 minutes to do 4
wheels, and these
wheels were filthy. No one believed i would be able to get them back to this finish. Its unreal, its a polish and a detergent and an acid all in one i think. Need to wear gloves, mask etc but its awesome stuff. Even if you only use it to get the area clean and shiny then maintain it with polish. Thats what i will be doing.
Its unreal stuff
