I've got the ute fitted our with a couple of pods so it comes up heavier than the mid-range wagon. Very happy with it. Mate has the wagon and tows a 2 ton tool trailer on a daily basis. Impressed with the towing. Considering your location and the towing, I'd probably look at the rear suspension if anything.

Cheers Mick

Broometime,

I've never driven one as yet but you will need to fit a larger fuel tank. Because as standard it only comes with 90lt tank.

Mine sites are using them cause:

1. They are tough as nails
2. You can't beat a solid axle for up your way.
3. Better dust proofing
4. Great towing capacity
5. And that V8 donk!

cheers

I don't own one but do a have the similar GXL trayback. A troop carrier would have some advantages of extra fuel tank and storage compared to the wagon but may not meet your requirements.

Only concern I have with the wagon is the loss of the second tank. This may mean a long range tank would have to be fitted.

You won't go far wrong with the wagon.
