Hi All, just spent $1000 dollars on my old hilux. Put new diffs front and rear at 4.3 ratio. Rebuilt the front axle new bearings and brass bush, seals the words.
The old girl drives beautiful, except that i have a wierd vibration.

The onl,y two things i can put it down to is either the redrilled pinion flanges, due to diff hole spacing, couldn't find my 30 mm socket. When i drilled then i oopsied a little line up with one being slighty off but it all pulled up straight.

or the diff carrier is off square, which will be picked up by a wheel alignment or string. having a lazy day today so i will run the string around it.

Any other suggestions???????

two diffs, 300 each, rear wheel bearings 45 each. front swivel hub kit, 63 dollars, front wheel bearings, 75 dollars for both. bronze bush 30 each, lubes, oils. and a few additional expenses.

my mechanic didn't charge me anything for helpingand teaching me how to rebuild front axle.

took most of the day. talk about mates rates.

i'll be sorting out his trike and helping him build his valiant.
