I recently bought a May 08 build 3litre turbo diesel 5 speed auto 2 wheel drive dual cab Ford
Ranger. It had 55000 klms on the clock. A few days ago I received a letter from Ford requesting the vehicle be taken to a Ford dealer to have the primary bonnet catch and a cable bracket supporting the gear selector cable replaced as there has been problems with both after sustained use in rough conditions. While under the vehicle having a look at the cable bracket, I noticed a drop of oil on the bellhousing. Today the Service Adviser said the oil was coming from, I think he said cam box at the back of the motor and it to would be repaired under warranty. Something for other low klm but approaching end of time warranty
Ranger owners to watch out for.

Certainly nothing too serious, cam box sounds like rocker cover gasket on the older engines, rough conditions is questionable? Keep an eye on her yourself and get as much addressed under warranty as possible.
