I need some advice from the experts out there!!
I currently have a 2001 Nissan Patrol. Good vehicle although a little underpowered for towing a 2.4 ton caravan.
I would like to change to something (?V8) but with some important changes.
My wife is disabled and I require room to carry a "gopher" (motorised wheel chair) and would love to have side access available as trying to get it out of the Nissan with the van on the back is difficult.
The ideal would be a vehicle with a built on back and side access but also with some more power but NOT the standard 2 door "farm" style interior.
Am I asking too much or chasing something that is not available?
Any suggestions
Mike

Apartfrom the bvious L/C Troopcarrier which can be had with a third door to get side access for your gopher you are going to be limited to a t/back or dual cab with tray. There will be plenty of body shops around that can convert a troopy and more than a few capable of constructing a hutch and ramp for the gopher. As an aside have you thought of putting a gopher holder on either the drawbar or the rear of the van. Most probably a lot easier than trying to modify a 4WD - that way you can buy a 'non-farm' style vehicle. plenty of
places around that currently do these for quads so pretty simple and reasonably cost effective. Good luck with the search. rgds

If you just want more power...........diesel-gas will give you what you need
I have diesel-gas on my Navara DC ....have had it on for 3 years now.....best investment i ever made......the extra torque and power is truly amazing
Cheers

Hi Richard,
Is your vehicle turbo or normally aspitated.
Reason I ask is that I am told by the experts that gas is not worth putting on a normally aspirated diesel but works very
well on a turboed vehicle.
I have diesel gas as
well but my vehicle is the turbo model (1HD FT) and the difference is great. Just love the performance. Only wish I could get rid of the ticking noise in these engines. Drives me crazy thinking about it sometimes.
Cheers, Bruce.

Hi Bruce........yes
mine is a turbo
As for the ticking noise I've been adding Valvolene Racing 2 stroke at a ratio of 200ml to 65litres of fuel........does seem to quiet it down.........numerous threads on this subject
Cheers
