Hi All,
Am replacing springs on my caravan with tandem roller rocker type.
Do the nylon rollers need to be lubricated? If so what with?
Thanks, David.

Hi David,
Try ringing the parts supplier where you got the parts from and they should be able to give you the best advice.

I also replaced all my springs and bushes after a failure on the last outing.

I used a good moly / graphite grease on the synthetic bushes as I was advised.

Put a set of synthetic bushes in the tray top once and didn't grease them and they chopped out in no time.

Hopefully someone with more accurate knowledge will give you some good advice here shortly.
Cheers, Bruce.

David,
The roller/rocker type change is a good move, I would also check to see if you need any Engineeringf certificate for the change and a RTA check, because if this is needed and you have an accident your friendly insurance company may not be so friendly without the necessary approval.

I have the roller rocker tandem set-up on my c/t......

When I was replacing pins & bushes a while back, I was advised by the good folk at Trail-a-Van (Toowoomba) that the nylon bushes SHOULD NOT be greased..

What I use on the rollers (& hanger bushes) is this stuff here >>>>

The last time I checked, there was minimal wear evident, so it appears to be doing it's job :)

I also squirt some between the spring leaves on a (more or less) regular basis...

Ed C
