It is controlled electronically. Something is telling the computer to pump more juice, faulty sensor etc.
The pumps can be modified but i would not suggest that while it is under warranty. Speaking of warranty - demand results! Don't accept bullship excuses.

It will most likely be the electronic advance mechanism in the pump, been there, done that. If it is still under warranty
park it in
the entrance to there workshop and demand it be fixed as it cost me close to $5000.00

Because there is no mechanical link between the accellerator and the pump, all throttle movement in the pump is done electrically, this is the side that failed in
mine, the pump had to be removed and sent to a diesel specialist to be dismantled and the electrical side of things to be rebuilt, because
mine had done 150,000klm there were signs of wear in the pump so I didn't let them reassemble it without doing a complete overhaul as more than half the cost of the job was labour alone so there was no way even though the pump was still quite serviceable that I was putting a half worn out pump back on. You have to dissmantle half the motor to get the pump off and back on.DO NOT EXCEPT THERE HALF BAKED EXCUSSES. NISSAN DESERVE EVERYTHING THEY GET. Needless to say I don't drive a Nissan any more.

The injection system is probably ok, it is more likely an air problem, something as simple as a plastic bag jammed in the air intake. I would be looking at the intake hoses and intercooler hoses for blockages or leaks. Eric.

Contact Nissan Australia either their head office or your state office, they will contact your local Nissan Dealer or another one if you are not happy with the service you have been given, some Dealerships put things into the TO HARD BASKET, I had a problem with ours and the QLD state office had it fixed at another dealership.
Cheers
