Hi All,
I am staying a week in Port Macquarie of NSW east coast.
I.d be interested if anyone can recommend some good not to challenging (Solo vehicle) tracks or beach driving etc in the area?

Noel C,
If you want to do some beach driving you will need a permit (available at
Tourist Information Centre or Council Offices)
The beach is accessible on the north shore (take ferry at Settlement Point) and can be driven almost all the way up to
Point Plomer. It can also be accessed at Lighthouse Beach and you can drive south to
Lake cathie.
If going to
Point Plomer, you can continue north to Crescent Head or return to Port Macquarie via the old mining road.
Inland, there is a nice drive up to
Werrikimbe National Park. Take the road from Port Macquarie to
Wauchope, then to Beechwood then follow the Hastings Forest Highway (dirt) up to Werrikimbe. Make sure you stop and look at the view at Number 1
fire tower (the tower isnt actually there anymore, but the view is stunning)
From there there is a number of ways to return to Port Macquarie. If you need more info ask at he
Information Centre or email me at cruisermac@gmail.com
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Cruiser
