I am replacing a set of Rhino Roof Racks with a set of Thule Roof Racks so that I can use the Thule Hullavator Kayak Loading System.
However, the Thule Roof Racks appear to wrap/clamp onto a roof mount on the Toyota Prado (at the fixed points for the roof of the 4WD). My Toyota does not appear to have these roof racks mounts which after talking to the Thule supplier appear to be standard on the Prado, which must have been thrown away when the Rhinos were installed. The Rhino’s don’t require the mounts & bolt directly into the roof.
The Toyota dealer (after a couple of visits) is not quite sure what the mounts look like (I am convinced he is blond). So, I am wondering if anyone knows what these look like (a part #) or better still has an image of the roof rack mounts on the Toyota Prado (120 series).
Thanks
Matt

The roof racks with clamps are designed to fit on the factory roof rails. After 2007 120 Series Prado the GXL, VX and Grande all had this standard. Before this only the VX and Grande had roof rails. You can add roof rails to a pre 2007 model Prado but at around $1500.00 just in parts its probably not a worthwhile option. THULE should be able to supply the same roof rack with a leg that screws into
the drip rail in the roof instead of the clamp style.
