I just strech a polly tarp out from the side of my vehicle & peg it down & stick the genny under it.

I once had a 1kVA genset which we left running at the
camp whilst we went elsewhere (to the pub 40ks away for supplies) A storm came in while we were gone and on our return we found the genset still running happily in the pouring rain, exhaust bubbling away under about 2 inches of brown
water. It gave me many years of service afterwards, but I wouldn't recommend it! Cheers

i throw a folded poly-tarp over
mine,,, folding the tarp help the tarp stand by itself... then i normally throw my lockdown chain over the top of it so it wont blow away...

Apart from the fact that you don't want
water coming in contact with the "electrickery" (240V) bits,
bear in mind that the fuel
tank needs to "breathe"...
Air is drawn in (through the cap vent) while the engine is running, so if it's getting rained on while running, the inevitable result will be
water in the fuel....
If I need to run
mine while it's raining, I shove it under the trailer ;-)
Otherwise, a "lean-to" using a small tarp between a couple of handy trees (or as stated above, off the side of the vehicle) would suffice...

Hi Browny,
I put a small tarp up so no ran falls on it. If it really starts bucketting down, i switch
mine off.
Cheers Wilko
