I have a chescold 3 way portable fridge and want to run it off 12v but it didn't come with a plug or lead. I've had it for 10yrs or so and want to keep it in the back of the car and run it off the car battery while driving.
Does anyone know where I can get an adaptor for 12v and how I can run it on 12V from the car - what needs to be done?

Jason my advice afeter using one for 15 years or so, is DON'T buy the standard plug.
The wiring is next to useless (too small a diameter) and the plug is only soft plastic covering the wiring.
My suggestion is look at the 2 12v pins on the fridge and get push on connectors to match and attach to wires direct.
You then plug them on/off individually BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM INSULATED FROM EACH OTHER.
Use 6mm2 (cross section that is) good quality wire for wiring. See link

Also it pays to wire direct to battery and not through cig lighter for best results.
Watch battery usage as the current draw is heavy.
Hope this helps

This is a better solution.
Take the back off, trace the 12v wires to their end and rewire the access with bigger capacity wire and an anderson plug. Fix the anderson plug on the backing plate of the fridge. Make a connection wire, with fuse, so you can plug it into the truck's wiring loom or an outlet you have wired into the back of the truck.
The original one is as above in the replies. The plug doesn't grip on the original socket so it either falls off or doesn't make a good connection.
